8M Pixels
Remember the Million Dollar Homepage? It's a variation of that idea with 2 main differences: first, we updated the pixel grid to 2016 so now it's a 4K webpage (I suspect it's the first 4K page ever) and second, we don't get to keep any money. We don't even handle any money. You "buy" the pixels by donating to one of 5 different organizations and you just have to send us the receipt. Obligatory Medium post.

Role: Product Manager
The association with GiveWell is a huge turnoff. They are still dead to me after their astroturfing and laughably inadequate apologies.
I was about to participate until I saw that. So instead I donated to MSF anyway and I will forgo my pixels.
Good idea, but needs more professionalism and less sleaziness.

aniola, that's exactly what you have to do. Just donate, send me the image, the link and the receipt and we'll get your link on the page.
equalpants, we're not associated with them (although I tried to get them to tweet about the project). We decided to use their ranking because we felt it was a sensible choice. At least, better than allowing any organization. All rankings are false but some are more useful than other.

I feel ya, and I like a good redemption story more than most, but Givewell and Metafilter have a long history that might be hard for some people around here to ignore.
