I Butchered a Pig
I butchered a pig this weekend, and decided to write about the process.

We went in with some friends to buy a hog from one of their college acquaintances. He told us the slaughterhouse could butcher it for us, or we could do it ourselves. We opted to try our hand at it, so we spent a morning cutting up a pig carcass.

I took a bunch of photos during the process, and then decided to write up the whole thing so I wouldn't forget it.

I love this. Good for you for taking on the task and I envy your future of pork consumption. Well done.

This is great! Well written, good photographs, and it looks like something all carnivores should have a go at.

This is an excellent dissection (heh!) of the butchery task. Reference worthy.

Part of the reason I'm a vegetarian is because I couldn't bring myself to do something like this, but I like seeing what I'm not capable of doing. Thanks for this - it's great!
