A (mostly) Vietnam related photo blog.
Subjects range from daily lives to the rapid development of the country, but I'm not beyond the odd landscape or portrait. Any feedback or criticism would be appreciated.

I've been doing this blog for a little while now and think it's perhaps starting to mature into a project. Initially, I was doing it to force myself to go out and shoot more often, and have found that I've started to spend a little more time and consideration on my photography this year. Sometimes there are single images, but I'm trying to focus on doing more 3 picture stories, especially when I get the opportunity to go somewhere different (and escape the pollution of Hanoi for a few days!). Subjects range from daily lives to the rapid development of the country, but I'm not beyond the odd landscape or portrait. Any feedback or criticism would be appreciated.

I've also been concurrently running the rather less considered Streets of Hanoi as an outlet for my compulsion to record (mostly on phone camera from the back of a motorbike) the oddities of the capital's traffic before the inevitable sweep of modernisation changes the city completely (probably got a good few years yet...).

Really nice.

All these photos make me want to learn more about the story of the person behind the camera. Beyond all the new and interesting things to see in Vietnam, I wonder what the purpose and meaning is in this photo project.

I mean, I wonder what the purpose and meaning is for you..

willt - I guess the purpose for me is to record what Vietnam is like over the period time I'm here for (currently 7 years and counting) as there is a feeling of very fast development here. It's not a particularly focused idea, but I want to be able to look back and see what the place was like once I've left and it has changed. My first child, a daughter, will be born here later this year and I've now started to think about recording what the place she was born in was like, and what my experience was like here, as we won't live here forever, and I'd like to show her later in life.
