Payhole.me - Get Something in the Mail
The Rules: Feed me money. Put in an address. Get something in the mail.

I like sending mail. You like getting mail. Payhole.me is an easy way to make us both happy. This is just a goofy idea I came up with a couple months ago that I finally turned into HTML. I hope someone (or lots of someones) bites!
Role: I made it.

Is this like an 1800's chat-roulette? Sold!

Mefites, I knew you wouldn't let me down! I've already gotten several participants including both of our dear commenters here. I can't wait to get to work on your somethings. :)

Yay! Did you get the PayPal note where I am actually an international dear commenter? (I threw in extra for extra postage.) You might add a field for "mail to" address to make somethings giftable!

I love both receiving and sending mail! Excellent idea. About to donate.

I did, DarlingBri, and I'm delighted to see that I've had quite a few more international participants already. By popular request I've also added a field so that you can specify an alternate address from the one stored in PayPal.

This is cool.

Feature Idea: Categories. It's edge case but it'd be not so cool for a bald man to get an awesome comb for example.

Again, cool idea. I'll be watching this.

A place for comments from people who got their "somethings" in the mail would be kind of cool. Also, if people don't send enough money, do they have the option of making up the difference, or do you just pocket the money and let them suffer in silence?

It hasn't happened yet, xingcat, but I think I'll probably just hit the refund button.

That's cool. I do a similar project (with message board and Facebook friends) where I send "cards for no reason" to anyone who sends me their address. I try to make it a surprise, and the demand is really high (people love to get stuff in the physical mail). I started doing it a few months ago, and have already sent 80 cards, so I'm sure your project is going to be very popular!

I am probably WAY too excited about this.

I got my mail from The Internet yesterday! It was awesome. I got a drawing of Spock and a sticker that says DINOSAURS and another sticker that says "tweet me @" and then I can fill in my twitter handle.

Highly recommend, would do again.

I appreciate the simplicity and mystery of the concept, but it got me thinking. What if you had the option to restrict your something to a items from a particular Amazon Wishlist ? Like automated Internet Santa.

Love this idea! I can't resist a surprise. My contribution ends in 29 cents so you'll know it's me.

Hey folks!

Sorry if some of you have felt neglected or in the dark about this thing. The bottom line is that I really did just get too great of a response and I wasn't really prepared. As of (I think?) about a month ago I stopped taking new payments: http://payhole.me/full.html

Everyone is still going to get something. I have mailed a toooooooon of somethings. If you want to check if I have already mailed you something or would like to get bumped up on the list do not hesitate to contact me: my email is rich -at- smalldefeats dot com.

This has been a really fun thing to do and I want to do it again later (with a much faster fulfillment system in place) but I am dedicated to getting stuff to the people I already owe stuff to first.

Thanks for being cool.
