Bad apartment photos
This is a Tumblr where I've collected bad photos of bad apartments that I've found on Craigslist. All photos come from listings of 3+bedroom apartments/properties under $1000/month from all over the country. Enjoy!

Seriously, these are your picks of bad apartments? I’ve lived in mostly worse than these back when I was apartment living. I would have been freakin thrilled with any of these.

Most of these are nicer than my apartment.

Bad doesn't mean squalid, guys. A lot of the places are quite nice, sure. The bad comes from the bad feature that the person chose to highlight in the photo.

I have a soft spot for these things, mostly because when I was looking for a place, I kept seeing photos that were so bad they compelled me to yell, via the computer screen, at the unknown photographer. Not necessarily because the properties were bad, but stuff like strange animals half-in/half-out of the frame, underwear lying on the furniture, indoor lawn furniture, etc.

(Lovely Listing used to aggregate real estate photos -- more from MLS than Craigslist and more from homes for sale than apartments for rent, and was at one point pretty funny, but then it sold out to the Cheeseburger Empire and I stopped checking it. So I think you can feel free to take up the mantle.)

Part of me might kinda like links to the original Craigslist ads.

More than part of me would enjoy links to the original ads.

The only problem is that CL listings tend to linkrot very quickly. So if you were going to do that, you'd need to implement some sort of caching, and I don't know how Craigslist feels about that or if they'd block you. I suspect so; they seem to basically be against anyone using their data for anything else, ever.

Kadin2048 has it right...linkrot would be a huge issue, and I definitely do not have any sort of technical prowess for caching. I can understand wanting the links, and maybe I'll try to implement it sometime in the future, but for right now, it is what it is.

Glad people are enjoying!
