A new website for an old cloth.
The Harris Tweed Authority is the guardian of Harris Tweed, the only textile in the world protected by an Act of Parliament from Shearing To Stamping.(Vimeo film).

The Harris Tweed Authority is a tiny but powerful organisation based in the Outer Hebrides of Scotland endowed with the legal protection of the Harris Tweed name and reputation. We produced a website for them with supporting weblog social media and a short promotional film documenting the process they protect. The online work brings them into the 21st century after decades in the dark.

A very nice website for a very deserving fabric.

A couple of years ago I spent a week in the outer hebrides - it really is fantastic the way little old ladies weave this stuff in their houses! Hopefully there's enough interest from younger people that the tradition will stay alive.

Nice!
I still have a sturdy Harris Tweed jacket I purchased back in the 80's. Love that thing.
