Monsters of Grok: fake band shirts for history's greatest thinkers
If want to live in a world where being a scientist is considered bad ass, and philosophers are worshiped like rock stars, so my newest lineup of t-shirts parodies famous band logos by re-purposing them to celebrate some of the world's most influential minds. Hope you enjoy them.

Just pointing out the Cinemetal shirts at IFC. It's a bit down a page. This is a pretty cool idea though.

The Curie one is sublime, I bet a lot of folks would not even notice or do double takes. Fantastic.

I would buy a Tesla one! But pairing him with Edison is blasphemy. :) But Tesla is already a band so people might be confused.

Yeah, on the Eesla/Edison one I certainly was thinking of them in an adversarial way (I've got it officially titled Tesla vs. Edison). I picture the lightning bolt if formed from the friction between them.

Love, love, love these shirts. By any chance, have you changed screenprinters in the last few years? I ask because I bought one of the 'Teach the Controversy' shirts in '08 (ish), and the decal was peeling pretty noticeably after three or four trips through the washing machine.

Mayor West I'm still using Spreadshirt, but I think that might have just been a bad print job (occasionally I've seen some that weren't pressed long enough do early peeling) because that isn't what I'd normally expect.
normally if something starts peeling early you can get a replacement from Spreadshirt, but since you kinda got screwed on your last shirt I'd be happy to send you one of these out of pocket. Just send me a mefi mail with what design / color / size you'd like along with where I should send it to.

Tesla-Edison the band already exists and is (was?) named Oasis. But I want it anyway.

oh crap, I didn't notice Tesla / Edison the first time I looked through them. But now I've noticed it and think IT'S THE BEST ONE OF ALL!
If I had money I would buy one right now. As is I'll have to put it at the top of the list of things to buy once I have money.

Yours site was recently featured on Pharyngula.
Great concept, btw. I'll definitely be purchasing a couple shirts when I can afford it. I think I'll go with Sagan and Machiavelli.

This would taste great with some Cantor, Ramanujan, or Euler.
