The Public Isolation Project
My friend Cristin Norine is spending one month living in a gallery, alone, that's in plain sight on a busy street in Portland, Or. She can't leave or have visitors, and is only communicating to others via social media.

She wants to start a conversation about the role of social media and technology in our lives, and how it's affecting our relationships.

Feel free to follow her on Twitter, become a fan of the page on Facebook, or just read her blog to find out what it's like to not be able to touch anyone else for a month. She's been interviewed on CNN and loves talking to others about the experience.

Katy McGroarty is doing something similar at the Chicago Science Museum.

A MONTH? I guess she'll survive the experience. I can think of a LOT of people who'd benefit from a month like that. (I'm tempted to add: whether they make it or not.)
