Released in 2010, Michael Hess' book Bingo And Social Club collected together his photographs taken in UK bingo halls. It is a rare social document, little else out there records daily life in the UK's retail halls in the same sort of depth. I contacted Michael to commission him to do a new set of photos for the brand new photography section at the site, charting the differences five years on from when he shot the photos for his book. The result is this collection of striking images, warm character portraits and architectural views, charting the people and places of UK retail bingo in April 2013. It's an eye-catching look inside the normally secretive world of the UK land based clubs, and the first in a series of original photographic shoots arranged as part of the growing archive of retail club material at the site.
I made this multiplayer bingo game to help you keep your sanity at SXSW (or any other place you find yourself drowning in social media buzzwords). Invite your friends to a game, then click off egregious jargon as you hear it spoken around you. Get five in a row and you "win"! Or lose, depending on how you look at it.
