Cover Art Tagging Project
A project to tag every piece of album cover art in existence (or at least, from the site's current set of ~280,000). In its current state (with only about 7,000 albums tagged), it already has some potentially useful application - exploring common themes (and/or clichés), finding an album you only remember by the things you saw on the cover, or guessing games. Future plans are to aggregate this data with other info about the album already in the database (like release date, genre, and location) to determine how cover art has been influenced by the era, geography, or the music itself.
