What's Toxic What's Not - New Book on Toxic Chemicals in Everyday Life
This new website and book focuses on what's toxic about our food, air, drinking water, consumer products and neighborhoods while also blowing up coming myths (e.g., mold is highly toxic, diet is a major source of pesticides). It tells the story of what has happened to individuals and whole towns who have had unfortunate run-ins with chemical hazards. It tackles today's controversies showing why we should be concerned about childhood leukemia near power lines, fluoride in drinking water and phthalates in cosmetics. Major focus provided on asbestos, lead, radon, indoor air, mold, drinking water, toxic gases, landfills, waste sites, smoke stacks, asthma, ozone, diesel, paint, adhesives, cleaning supplies, cosmetics, food, dioxin, PCBs, mercury, etc. Separate sections on how to buy a toxics-free house and being a toxics-smart consumer.
