Cellphone Videos as Proof
More and more critical world events are documented by regular people with cell phones. I'm working to strengthen the verity of cell phone videos by augmenting them with corroborative data.
I’ve created FakeProof, an Android app to increase the documentary strength of videos by
* allowing simultaneous recording from front and back cameras,
* embedding sensor and location data, and
* embedding cryptographic signatures (among other measures).
This makes the videos highly verifiable and very resistant to deep faking, etc, all while completely respecting your privacy and control of the recording!
Please try it out, let me know any feedback!
Note: it’s still under very active development.

I'm definitely considering it, and there is a good chance.

For some reason it says it isn't compatible with my device. Redmi Note 8 running MIUI 12, which is based off Android 10.

Thanks, I'll look into it -- its supposed to be compatible with everything after Android 8 (API 26).

So... it turned out I was requiring a barometer for no good reason (though I may optionally use it in the future just 'cause its more contextual data). Pushing a new version without that requirement -- thank you for flagging!
