Dan Fuehring Lives On
In October 2015, my father and frequent Metafilter contributor Dan Fuehring (better known as Danf) died of cancer. One of his (many) great loves in life was music. You may remember him posting some of his compositions on Mefi Music. I have finally finished cataloguing, publishing and creating an online archive of his music recordings.
From four-track cassette recordings he made in the seventies when he was my age (28) to more "polished" tracks he made post retirement when he converted my old room into his own personal music studio, they are now all public, listenable, and free to download and distribute for anyone.
Hope you enjoy! My dad was one of a kind and I miss him everyday. Strangely, working on this project made me happier to have known him, not sadder to have lost him.

This is beautiful. Thanks for keeping his music and spirit alive and accessible to the rest of the universe. The universe needs it.

This is a wonderful idea. My step-father died a few years back, and his few recordings are treasured memories by a bunch of us.. I hadn't thought about making it easier to share it with people who might not be in our immediate circle. Really well done. Thank you for sharing it with us.
