Introducing Cloud 13 Records – Independent Music On-Demand
With our official site launch and the release of our Fall 2006 catalog on August 29th, Cloud 13 Records is open for business. Cloud 13 Records is an on-line independent record label with a built-in on-demand distribution channel, meaning we primarily produce the titles in our catalog through our own on-demand production mechanism at the time you first place an order with us. Offering our catalog on-demand allows us to put out music we love that might not immediately generate huge sales numbers, because our up-front costs are lower than traditional record labels (so we can afford to take chances on artists that take chances). It also allows us to offer a much higher share of the revenue from sales to the artists themselves when you buy their releases directly through our PayPal secured on-line store. In the coming months, Cloud 13 also plans to make select releases from our catalog available through the major digital content retailers on-line, including iTunes, Emusic, Audio Lunchbox, and many others.
