Six years of masks
Each year for the past six years I've crafted a mask for Mardi Gras - they're all skulls, and all made out of papier-mache. Recently I decided to document all of them at once and felt it would be more appropriate to show not only the masks themselves but the costumes that go with them. The result is this composite image, put together from six different photographs of me and my masks.

I also have as well a gallery of process pictures from a Halloween mask I made a few years back that shows some of the work that would go into one of these.

I love that they are essentially wearing tracksuits == football hooligans.

Very cool. Love them all but the carrot skull is hilarious. I also like how the Adidas sneaker's stripes look like rib bones in this context.

Thanks, all. I appreciate the positive comments.

Foci for Analysis: not quite track suits. They're coveralls because A.) easy to paint and B.) we never have any idea what the weather's going to be like on Mardi Gras but it's easy to layer underneath these if it's a year that it's freezing cold.

bonobothegreat: many other people in our krewe wear the same sneakers for exactly that reason.

PussKillian: very glad to hear it!
