On Nine Lives
I went through a traumatic experience losing a pet I was very close to, and I wanted to honor him and share the experience of knowing this wonderful animal, along with some of my best photography of him.

Hobbes looks and sounds like such a great cat. I'm so sorry to hear about your loss. Poor little guy.

I'm sorry that you lost your cat. It seems he was very special. Your words and pictures make him live again in our imagination.

Hi there, Buddha =)

I'm brand new to metafilter, so you're my very first post! =) I just wanted to tell you how sorry I am for your loss, and that I understand how tragic it is (and feels) when you lose someone who is so special. I lost my little Ian (who looked a lot like Hobbes!), who was the runt of his litter, who snagged my sweater with his claws as I was walking past him in the animal shelter (thus picking _me_), and who used to sleep underneath me, curled in against me, a warm ball of unwavering purr and love! I know how special they can be, and I think this tribute to Hobbes is just perfect. I agree with sparklemotion. I think both the pictures and words brings each us back to someone we've similarly loved.

I can only tell you that with time it gets easier. And every new animal (cat or dog or cats and dogs =D) has a new personality and a new adventure. That, too, is healing.

Sending you the very best.

I am so sorry for your Loss. What a great cat.
You wrote about his energy still charging the air in his favourite places. That perfectly explains a feeling I have had too, where I am somewhere that I used to be with someone who has now died. It feels good to be able to put that feeling into words finally. Thankyou.

The picture with the money just slayed me. Hilarious.

A lovely and touching story. I feel the same way about my little beast. Thank you.
