Killer Word
Interesting instant-search dictionary app for iOS and Mac which finds words based on some of the letters they contain irrespective of order. For example you can type KQV and it will find you the only 13 words that contain all those letters (like EQUIVOKE). It's remarkably useful for word games like Letterpress (whose dictionary it is wrapped around) or for checking goes at Scrabble, or for a lot of word-related messing about.

It's a bit over-engineered inside, hence the ridiculous speed. It's got reverse indexes of word-sets that get fed into an n-way set intersection engine that gets faster the harder you make the query. I think I spent too long working at Google.

This looks really cool! (Sadly, I don't have iOS 7, but I wish I did). Where does the word list come from?

Thanks!
It's the same open-source word list used in the popular game Letterpress, and has more than a quarter of a million words. I ended up writing a dictionary compiler to get it into the binary form I needed.

(oops, didn't realize it's Mac-only-- the search continues!)

Threeants - it's Mac or iOS. Out of curiosity, what platform were you hoping for?
