Gentle Tentacle Webcomic
I finally got off my butt and started a webcomic. Still pretty rough but thought I'd share.

A few thoughts: I'm not sure if I should be putting the title of the comic in the comic itself. Having it in the Wordpress title area may not be the best way of doing this. The site itself is a stripped down wordpress/comicpress site with most features turned off.

I only have three up and have a couple more in the oven for this week. I'm thinking I can comfortable do a twice weekly schedule.

The art isn't too hot, but short of finding/hiring an artist, this is pretty much as good as I can make it. The Trailers comic was made using a digital pen, but I think that was largely an experiment and I'm going to stick with pen/paper/scanner/photoshop combo going forward.

Please let me know what you think.

I think it's a good idea to have the title appear in the strip image itself as well as on the site; that way you still get some recognition if some jackhole downloads the image and reposts it (unless they maliciously remove the title, of course; but most people aren't malicious, just clueless).

As for art, keep at it, you'll be amazed at how you grow. I'd think about line variation a little- use heavier lines for outlines of things/people, lighter (or the weight you're using) for interior lines.

And for blacking stuff in, I always have the best luck just doing that in Photoshop (I'm a pen/paper/scanner/photoshop guy, too). Doing black spaces in ink slows you down, leaves you open to tiny little white pixels from spots you missed, and eats up your pens faster. Let photoshop do the work!

MeMail me if you want to talk production more. I learned a bunch of shit the hard way, and can spout on and on...

Thanks for the tips! I'll MeMail you if I can't figure some of this stuff out.

IMO art is secondary to writing. I chuckled at the Magneto comic. Certainly you can be a success without mind-blowing art. Keep up the good work.
