Half Hour Video on Immigration
This here's a video about immigration in Arizona and I helped. Well, facilitated.

My job this past summer was to facilitate eight high schoolers in how to make and use media. So basic film training and a lot of talk on power, media, et al. It looked a little bit like the global action curriculum in spirit.

They decided to do a video on immigration. As facilitator, I provided advice and played time-manager. As a youth voice centered project they took the reigns, figured out all the logistics, and arranged it all themselves. Some came in after the program was over to make sure it was finished properly.

It's a solid half hour from people that never even touched a camera, cared much about documentaries, or considered the impact of visual storytelling beforehand. Unfortunately, we currently can't get a screening. So it's being released to the internet.

Really well done! I enjoyed watching it and your students deserve alot of credit in doing such a great job. You've inspired me to do something similar in my own school during the next semester. Thanks!
