Giving Rural a Voice on the Web
RIPPLE is a website that focuses on the views and voices of community builders in the rural Northwest. Our new website features a rural focused blog, stories from the field, and a bulletin board for our users. I work with rural communities all over Oregon and Siskiyou County, now the people I work with have a place to share information and sound off about the issues that matter to them. The project was completed through the nonprofit I work for, Rural Development Initiatives (www.rdiinc.org) and with the amazing help of the Erica Dillon at Upswell (http://www.hello-upswell.com/). This project started out as a site with a cloudy mission, a nightmare of a CMS, a feature fiasco, usability problems galore, and a IA maze. Erica Dillon at Upswell helped create a overall site strategy that truly caters to RIPPLE users, and helped us focus on our goal to connect and represent the people of the rural Northwest.

Sorry about the delay gomichild—it took a day or so for the DNS change (from the old site to the new) to propagate through the Internet. Hopefully you can access it now. There are some great community bloggers on the site!
