The Big Picture
A photo blog on boston.com (from the Boston Globe). Updated semi-regularly, entries in The Big Picture will consist almost entirely of a series of large, quality, news-worthy photos from wire feeds and other varied sources - each tied together by some related storyline.

Tired of smaller sized click-next-click-next news photo galleries, or smaller sampled "photo of the day" sites, I set out to create a platform to display and celebrate the high-quality news photography happening around the world right now. Possible subtitle: "There will be scrolling"

AWESOME! This is one of my biggest gripes about the newspaper and online news sites. It makes since that newspapers had to print relatively small images, but with the internet there's no reason NOT to publish giant pictures. Nothing annoys me more than seeing a great photo attached to an article and having to squint to make out the details.

Great idea, and simplified execution. Beautiful images that I would never have gotten to see otherwise. Added to my 'daily' list (and there were only 4 thus far).

Yeah, I had no idea a MeFite was involved. This is my favorite site of the year, and brought me to the most intimate moments in Mumbai, Greece, and even on a pilgrimage to Mecca. Looking forward to seeing what turns up in the new year. (Please do Kashmir!)
