With no mouse to coax him out of the Pit, Okkog Okkog Clarke slowly went mad, culminating in the murder and subsequent consumption of Hittehelmeteppol Smythe, the [otherwise] greatest champion the Pit had ever witnessed. Okkog Okkog Clarke spent the remainder of his days wandering the woods alone, feverish for food, but finding no mice to lead him to sustenance.
The rabbits prepared another bunny and waited silently among the trees. Twenty-six rabbits. Twenty-seven.

Holy fuck, I had totally forgotten about your idea until I was looking through my favorites for a MeTa thread, started to wonder whether you'd followed up on your comment, decided to google it on a whim and there it was!
