The Eddie Adams Workshop.

The Eddie Adams Workshop.
Eddie Adams passed away in September of 2004, but his legacy as a great photojournalist lives on through the Eddie Adams Workshop, an intense four day gathering of 150 of some of the best professional photojournalists, and 100 chosen newcomers to the world of photojournalism. The Workshop is tuition-free, and the 100 students are chosen based on the merit of their portfolios. 2006 will mark the 19th year of the Eddie Adams Workshop. A number of my co-workers here at PhotoShelter are alums of the workshop - we recently launched a new community site for EAW - allowing members to show off the best of their portfolios, communicate with one another, and to allow the thousands of prospective students that apply each year an online mechanism to send their portfolios to judges digitally. Please check it out - there are thousands of great photos in the alumni (full listing) section - and plenty more about the workshop around the site.
