Local Movie Listings
Movie listings based on your location.

The company I work for has a site that aggregates local data. Other members of the team have just launched a movie listing section that presents showtimes and other based off your location (or any location in N. America you enter). I'm really proud of the work they've done, and to be honest mildly jealous that I wasn't directly involved in this part! I'd love to get thoughts and suggestions from folks here about the movie listings and the rest of the site so we can keep working to make it better.

Wouldn't the low bar here be to be better than Google's version?

Honestly, it's great. The only thing keeping me from regularly using and telling people about it, is an easy to remember domain.

dmd, to be honest I think Google is a high bar. :-) What do you prefer about Google's? More data on one page?

913, would ConnectorMovies.com be better? That resolves to the same section of ConnectorLocal.

I used to go to a site where you could see movies listed by start times. Here's where that would be helpful. There are several movies that you're interested in and several theaters that are about equally convenient. But you'd like to squeeze the movie in before dinner. Google, your site and every other site I can remember will only organize the movies by theater and by movie.

There was another site that helped you plan to catch consecutive movies. It showed graphically when movies started and ended so you could know that if you watched one movie you could slide right over to a second one without being late or waiting an hour and a half. I'm pretty sure I found this site on Metafilter - either on the blue or here in Projects. It feels like this was a long time ago. It may have been before projects.

Anyway, those were neat features. The second one would be more of a novelty for me but I'd use your website frequently if it offered the first feature.

Just updating to thank Stuart for the "listed by start times" suggestion. The guys working on that section of the site loved it, and launched the update today.
