"The Lizard, the Catacombs and the Clock"
I spent much of last year investigating a secret society in Paris, known by various names - UX, Untergunther, la Mexicaine de la Perforation. [Previously on MeFi: 1 2] This article has now been published in the summer issue of the literary journal BRICK, and they have posted it in full.

You Are Not Dead: A Guide to Modern Living.
Following in the footsteps of some other great artists and fucking the recording industry, I am releasing my debut album online, free. There is no multilevel merchandising plan or handcuffing DRM -- only high-quality, haunting music. See what Dobbs had to say about it. This album comes with a heavily illustrated PDF book, written in the style and tone of 1960's era US Government pamphlets, with instructions on how to live your life. If you want more, the torrent has better quality MP3s.

Question Party
Maybe it's best to leave you with the words of Will Carlough, creator of Question Party: "If I have to explain Question Party to you, I can't explain Question Party to you."

Astronaut: A Flickr-Generated Project
Around the time I was exploring the Flickr API, I was listening obsessively to a song by a musician friend of mine. I got the notion to import his song into Flash, mark specific keyframes in the song, and randomly pull images from Flickr whose tags matched his song lyrics.

I've found that sometimes, the image combinations end up being pretty amazing; other times, they end up being silly and totally subvert the song. It all depends, as each viewing should provides a new, randomized set of photos. But that, I think, is part of the fun. Hope you like it.

Hundreds of hand-drawn turkeys!
As teaching assistant for a large (700+) class at upenn.edu, I was put in charge of photocopying the midterm. I added "Draw a turkey" to the last page; here are the results. Gobble, gobble!

Word Plus One
Fun with flash fiction... Starting November 1, I will write a new story every day for a year. Each day, the number of words in the story will increase by exactly one. Yes, the first story is only one word long.

Viral Video Chart
We couldn't find anything that quite hit the nail on the head, so we built this, a daily chart of the most blogged about videos on YouTube, Google Video and MySpace. It's completely automated and counts both links and video embeds on several million blogs a day. There's also an archive of previous number ones. If you think it's any good, please vote for it on digg or reddit, too.

The Daily Chegwin
"One fish, one photo, once a day." Daily photolog of my goldfish, just for comedy's sake.

My Father's Hand: A blog of figure drawings
My father can no longer hold a pen. He sure could draw in his time, though. If you enjoy this sort of thing, bookmark it as he has done hundreds. He was the king of simple line drawings, especially nude studies. My mother is taking care of him full-time now as he has both Alzheimer's and Parkinson's. Any revenue from his work will go directly to his care. I hope you enjoy the drawings.

I am not a terrorist: The Shirt
I offer this shirt as my response to the ridiculousness of the hysteria. All the shirts are set to $1.00 more than the Spreadshirt base price — all profits will be sent to the ACLU.

PickStation - collaborative music blog/podcast
It's similar to MiFi Music (artists can upload their own music for free), but you can also submit links to tracks that are hosted on other websites. It's basically a digg style music blog. One notable feature is that you can place a flash music player of your favorited tracks or submissions on your own website. As submissions and voting starts to pick up I plan to implement more ways to filter tracks (such as a view of tracks your friends are voting for).
