Bloor and Lansdowne is Blansdowne.
This is a small (ongoing) photo project on the area I live in, the neighbourhood centred around the intersection of Bloor and Lansdowne in Toronto.

Hirsute History
Tee Shirts featuring the hair of famous people. Not like 'Britney' famous, more like important. Well, mostly. Oh, and some beards too.

The Good, The Bad and The Etsy
Love Etsy? Hate Etsy? Well, what do you know--me, too! So I created a blog to snark about it three times a day.

BluTeal on Etsy
I really enjoy making things - paintings, sculptures, jewelry, clothes - so I've started an Etsy store to help justify my crafting habit.

I Write, They Answer (usually).
Ask any artist and you'll be told artists' statements are bullshit. Some skip statements for this reason. I'm skipping right past the art to the bullshit. Tweaking the noses of entities with a bit of power or fame is nothing new. There's a long tradition of this, but invoking the "Yes Men," "Michael Moore," or "Lazlo Toth" might make it seem like I am pretending I play in their league. I'm not. I don't. All the same, I invite you to check out jackassletters.com. I would like to say the URL says it all, but since I don't really believe it does, and I intend to change it soon, not giving a better description would be a jackass's game. There's work to be done, but I think it's good enough to show. Currently I am running a contest to rename the site. I want to get this done as quickly as possible, since I would like to rename it before it becomes the #1 destination on the internet for young and old! Well, or before the Cease and Desist letters start to arrive.

Get a First Life
My one-page satire site of Second Life, because I'm a little tired of all the hype. More on why I made it.

Triptrop NYC: Completely Rad Subway Time Maps
Plug in an address in New York City, and Triptrop generates a super slick looking map of how long it takes to get everywhere on the subway. And maybe you're moving? Then plug not one but two addresses into the address comparison version and see which one gets you where you want to go! Oh, joy.

A Stereoscopic Pair of Oil Portraits
This is my semi-finalist entry for the 2009 Outwin Boochever Portrait Competition of the Smithsonian's National Portrait Gallery in Washington, D.C. The piece consists of a stereoscopic pair of oil portraits and a hand built viewer. When one views the paintings through the viewer, the images merge to form a 3D image much like that of an old Viewmaster toy. The subject of the portrait is writer and albinism advocate Andrew Leibs. There will be another round of judging in May, and if the piece makes the cut it will appear in the triennial competition show in the fall of '09.

Whole Child School (site for proposed alternative public school in Toronto)
I'm on a committee that is proposing a new alternative public school in the Toronto District School Board, that would follow a holistic arts-based experiential-learning curriculum. (And after three years it looks like it's actually going to happen next fall!)
