Blogs.com
Blogs.com is a directory for... you guessed it, blogs! We made it at Six Apart, with probably half a dozen of the team members working on the project being long-time MeFi members. The goal of the site is to help readers discover new blogs, and to help bloggers attract new readers. The site editors pick blogs to feature in a bunch of different categories, based on submissions from bloggers across the web (That means you should submit your blog!) and those editorial choices are joined by Top 10 lists created by popular bloggers, kind of like Celebrity Playlists on iTunes.

Photoshop Disasters
Just as the Daily WTF showcases disastrous code, Photoshop Disasters is a showcase for the most egregious examples of Art Direction gone awry. If you work with digitally enhanced images in a commercial setting please consider submitting your competitors' fiascoes, disasters and misadventures. After all, there is never a problem so severe that it can't be ridiculed.

The Pointless Museum
The Pointless Museum is a growing collection of books, cards, games and other half-forgotten things. It includes 70s futurism books like The Usborne Book of the Future and The World of Tomorrow - School, work and play; a number of sets of Top Trumps and other card games, and programming books for home computers that hardly anyone ever owned.

bug.gd, Humanity's Only Hope -- user-grown error search engine
The idea is simple: you search for an error message on bug.gd. If the solution is there, you win. If not, then we'll ask you (48 hours later) how you figured it out. Your answer is saved to help the next lost soul. Our newest news is our launch of a Firefox extension that lets you skip the email reminder aspect, saves some keystrokes (auto-paste), and tracks your unsolved errors. The vision is to get to the point where silly things like computer errors and crashes never need to be solved twice. If someone solves a problem, everyone gets benefit of the answer. We've been asked why users would use the service over searching Google, but we see that as saying you prefer throwing things in the trash over recycling. Some people are like that, but there are many of us that don't want our work to be wasted. As a bonus, since all the solutions submitted are indexed by major search engines, you're helping even those who don't use the site. Back in October we prepopulated the database with 65,000 Microsoft KB article error messages and it's been growing ever since. Let us know what you think!

Single-page aggregator that gathers news, opinion, etc. concerning the 2008 US presidential election from a variety of sources.

Originally designed to entertain myself and brush up on some web skills, but shared here in case others might find it useful. Feedback (technical, content suggestions, anything) welcome.

Ukulele/Tom
Ukulele tabs. Simple as that. Starting off with more modern (indie?) songs than most sites have. I also wrote the soon-to-be open source chord layout script that runs the chord diagrams and parses the tab for chords. Any Mefites that have tabs are beseeched to contribute!

Recon Club
Without going too much into Halo fandom, or my interests in virtual items and economies, I created this site to be the definitive list of Halo 3 players that have Recon or Bungie armor. Yes, I know the first rule is that we're not supposed to talk about it, but I come not to bury Recon but to praise it. I just want to track the phenomenon.

Petition: Los Angeles demands goats for fire safety
The citizens of Los Angeles are deeply concerned after serious wildfires in the Griffith Park and Hollywood Hills have destroyed vast swaths of urban wilderness and killed or displaced thousands of animals during their breeding season. These fires feed upon unchecked dry undergrowth, and endanger lives, homes, historic monuments and our enjoyment of the city. It will take decades before Griffith Park is restored to its pre-fire condition. We the undersigned demand that the City of Los Angeles and the L.A. Department of Recreation and Parks respond to this continued threat by bringing in shepherds with herds of goats to graze on the dry hills, a plan previously implemented with great success by UC Berkeley in the aftermath of that community's devastating 1991 fire. Goats are economical, ecological fire-fighting machines that produce fertilizer as they clear hills and canyons of weeds, poison oak and dry chaparral. Additionally, the animals are charming, newsworthy ambassadors for fire safety, a subject that needs to be more widely discussed. We want to save our parks and mountains. We want goats!
