Earth Sandwich

My brother and I created an Earth Sandwich! I finally posted the video as part of my Follow The Foot video series (Previously). I first heard about Ze Frank and the Earth Sandwich on metafilter, so I thought you all might enjoy!

This is my third attempt at making a music video. This one was shot and edited in 24hrs. ! Made for British band 'The One' which consists of talented vocalist Emeson Nwolie and Fair Oh's drummer Joe Ryan.

One Week One Band

does exactly what it says on the tin. Every week, a trusted music blogger writes about their favorite band or one they think deserves more attention. This week, I am turning my attention to a beloved, forgotten Boston band, O Positive. They were my favorite band in middle school.

Old Music Video Projects

I was going to wait to post this kind of stuff until I had a complete project done, but I stopped making these when youTube started with the copyright algorithms a couple of years ago and haven't had the heart to continue.

These are the beginnings of two aborted projects at least two years old.

The first one took songs from a local (Bloomington, IN band) The Post's 2003 album and matched it to Apocalypse Now:
01 - Absent
02 - Even the Lighthouse Burns

The second was the Editor's 2007 album matched to different movies:
02 - Wish (Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind)
04 - Escape (2001)

Anyway.. critiques welcome.

Heroine Love

No, not that kind of heroine. 12 amazing book bloggers join me throughout February to celebrate their favorite literary heroines. Along the way, conversation is sparked and plenty of prizes are won. When my debut book, The Heroine's Bookshelf, was published by Harper in October, I had no idea what lay in store...hundreds of conversations with other rabid readers eager to champion their favorite literary heroines and argue against the rest. While we may not all share the same favorites, it seems the love of strong female protagonists is universal. Thus, Heroine Love was born.

Heroine Love is a month-long celebration of literary heroines. 12 book bloggers are visiting my site from February 1-18 to talk about their favorite heroines and point to the books that changed their lives. Every day, we're giving away literary loot and prizes like autographed books, audiobooks, trinkets, and more. The cherry on top? A grand-prize drawing on February 18 for an ultimate prize pack containing an iPod Shuffle, signed print and audio copies of my book, a brand-new audio edition of Pride and Prejudice just released by Blackstone audio, and a $50 gift certificate to the lucky winner's local indie bookstore.

Want the long list of participants and prizes? Here ya go!
