Crossfader - Move & Mix

Everyone complains about how ridiculously simple DJing is, but no one does anything about it. Sound like a pro on your phone by moving your body. It's like DJ karaoke and even your mom will like it.

Dr Sketchy's Anti-Art School: The Documentary

in 2010 I (along with many others) were interviewed for a documentary on the formation of the world-wide life-drawing cabaret show I helped found. After two years on the festival circuit, it is now available for all and sundry on Vimeo. Interviews with Akynos, Gal Friday, Amber Ray, Molly Crabappple, and more. NSFWish video and audio. Directed by Peter Bolte (14 min)

Savings planner

The thing started with a simple question: I have a savings plan without a fixed interest rate I regularly put money in. I even put extra money in it if there is something left at the end of the month or if my bank advisor tells me so. But when it came to examining the result I was left alone. Tilting at Werewolves

Looking at Teen Paranormal Romance books, shows, and movies, and particularly at how they present ideas of gender performance and relationship models. (Here's the inaugural post, where I lay out what the plan basically is. Highlights so far include this particularly cogent defense of (at least some aspects of) Twilight, and this epic takedown of Hush, Hush.) And today, we've started a new, 144-week-long project: watching and discussing each and every episode of Buffy the Vampire Slayer. MeFi bonus: named via AskMe (thanks again, argonauta)!

The San Fran Plan

I'm working on a 3-month trip to San Francisco to explore gender, sexuality, love, and relationships via performance from the perspective of a female queer migrant minority. Here I'll be documenting the project, my progress towards it, and how people can support me. If you're in San Francisco give me a yell!

The Public Isolation Project

My friend Cristin Norine is spending one month living in a gallery, alone, that's in plain sight on a busy street in Portland, Or. She can't leave or have visitors, and is only communicating to others via social media. [more inside]
