Warriors for Hire: Blackwater USA and the rise of private military contractors
Over in Iraq, the use of Private Military Contractors, a.k.a. mercenaries has become widely accepted. In fact, the "Coalition of the Billing" makes up a force that amounts to nearly three times the number of Bristish military personnel in the country. I went down to Moyock, North Carolina and visited the headquarters of Blackwater USA, the largest PMC in Iraq. It's an armed compound half the size of Manhattan and the Disneyland of tactical warfare. What then is this all about? And are these guys serious when they say they want to help in Darfur?
