making/upcyling jewelry outta electronic cables
Wanted to share my wife's brainchild, Junk Party Jewelry. She collects old landline, network, and other cables and makes earrings, necklaces, and more. She's pretty obsessed with upcylcing/recycling/reusing and so on. I considered posting this to the front page, considering the that you can now friend-link, but if I think about it, I have some involvement in her project, considering that she's always bouncing ideas off me. Let me know what you think!

"Junk Party jewelry and accessories are handmade in Cleveland, Ohio. Junk Party transforms old cords, cables and wires into fun, party time jewelry.

Each piece is carefully handmade using a cord and cable that may otherwise go to a landfill. Reducing waste is essential to our mission. Junk Party displays are made from salvaged resources and we package and ship with reused materials that are all biodegradable.

Junk Party pricing is based on a direct-to-consumer business model. This provides customers with unique, handmade jewelry at a reasonable price. Outsourced findings are carefully researched and chosen based on sturdiness as well as companies that provide fair labor wages. As a small business, we strive to support and buy from other small businesses."

Refreshing and different. My wife was totally put off my the 'Hey Babe' popup but maybe your market likes that.

That's very cool. I'm a telecom policy analyst and I 100% want to get one of these to wear to work but I really only wear necklaces and the two on offer are a little on the large size.

Does she ship internationally?

These are super cool! Neat style; has a lot of flexibility to fit into various fashions. Really like the models and page design as well--very festive and energetic. Bookmarked for the holidays!
