Finishing School: overcoming work blocks to get your projects done and into the world

I'm a clinical psychologist and I've written a book called Finishing School: overcoming work blocks to get your projects done and into the world.

The premise is that, while of course you're motivated to do your projects, you may also be motivated NOT to do them. I've called this conflict "motivational dissonance." Both positive and negative motivations can be conscious or unconscious, and both types can give us trouble.

_Finishing School_ starts at the beginning: a developmental approach to how conflicts develop. It then goes into defining what your particular conflicts are (combining a number of theories, such as psychoanalytic, cognitive-behavioral, and Eastern/mindfulness), including a number of self-assessing inventories. Finally, we go through a multitude of ways you can help yourself to keep going, depending on what you've learned about your own personal finishing conflicts.
