I've been working on a simple timeline of Trump's stated positions and comments, juxtaposed to the endorsement of every politician who's come out in support of him. There's still so many endorsements and Trump statements to add, but I think it's a good start.

It really struck me how many Republicans have jumped on the Trump train, as though it was politics as usual. It feels so irresponsible. Even more odious is the "I support the nominee" stance that so many have taken, which is truly mealy-mouthed cowardice. At the same time, I feel like the memory of the media and ourselves as citizens is increasingly fleeting, and things tend to vanish down the memory hole of the internet. So I want to capture exactly the person Trump is, in his own words, and the people who support him, in theirs. And keep it alive forever.

A curse upon their Houses unto the seventh generation.
All the armies of Europe, Asia, and Africa combined, with all the treasure of the earth in their military chest, with a Bonaparte for a commander, could not by force take a drink from the Ohio or make a track on the Blue Ridge in a trial of a thousand years. At what point then is the approach of danger to be expected? I answer. If it ever reach us it must spring up amongst us; it cannot come from abroad. If destruction be our lot we must ourselves be its author and finisher. As a nation of freemen we must live through all time or die by suicide. —Abraham Lincoln's Lyceum address

This is very good. I'm reminded of the sites still out there that list everyone they could find who were involved in the Bush/Cheney torture program.

It would be interesting to slice it by office type, or other things that aren't in a timeline. Like: who worked on the campaign; who tried to get the Veep slot; that sort of thing. I like the timeline though- it's really well done and provides necessary context.

It would be nice to have a complementary list of committed #NeverTrumpers who hold political office. At this rate, it's going to be a very short list :(

Thanks for the feedback!

A few other people have had ideas along the same lines with varying presentation styles. The Guardian did such a nice job that I link to their page when you click on the baby hand:

http://www.theguardian.com/us-news/ng-interactive/2016/may/14/who-supports-donald-trump-the-new-republican-center-of-gravity

And they even added that really cool filtering capability.

The Atlantic is keeping their own list. So are Slate, Politico, The Washington Examiner, and Wikipedia.

My fear is that any of those links could just disappear at any time. So this is my own little contribution to democracy, for $15 a year I can maintain this one record of X endorsed Trump after Trump said y, and z, and then z again. And maybe in time I can make it prettier as well, I'd really like to.
