Wonderful Christmastheme: Collaborative Christmas album
Wonderful Christmastheme is an album of Christmas music by members of Theme Music, a Facebook group in which there is a theme posted every two weeks, and members of the group -- who range from professional musicians to non-musicians singing into their phones -- perform songs that fit the theme. It turns out quite a few Themesters like Christmas music.

Several of us in the group had been talking about putting together a Christmas album among ourselves, so I decided I should just get the project rolling. We didn't start until November 15, though, and so the album came out when there wasn't much time before Christmas. We're ready for next year, though! (But there will be a sequel next year, too!)

The songs range from power pop to acoustic indie to country to a cappella chant to '60s soul. Lots of originals, a few covers. Following Theme Music's usual philosophy, all were welcome to participate no matter what their skill level. And it came out pretty good! And it's a free download.

One song people might enjoy is at the end -- Somewhere at Christmas, which we did sort of "We Are The World" style with 5 lead vocalists and a choir of other Themesters. That particular song is a cry for peace, and this Christmas it seemed we really needed to sing that.

It's a pretty cool group. :) I've gotten so much out of it in the last couple of years.
