Annotated transcripts of presentations on media, art, and design, made freely available on the web.

While originally conceived to address my annoyance at how generally inaccessible this stuff was to things like search, there are clear benefits to anyone who may have trouble with embedded media(eg. deaf, hard, hearing/sensory integration issues), and I'm doing work to improve in regards to those particular concerns.
Or maybe you just prefer reading to sitting in front of YouTube for an hour.

There are currently 57 published, with topics ranging from someone sticking various kinds of microphones on/in/through Autodesk's lab machinery and coming out with "industrial ASMR," to the Deep Lab feminist hacker collective [previously], to an English professor tracing the roots of surveillance culture to the Romantic period [previously].

These are people saying interesting things that I want more people to encounter.

I'm doing this on my own time right now, but I'd really like for it to sustain itself. There's a link to Patreon at the site, and if you have an extra dollar a month available I'd really appreciate the support. If not, just passing a link around counts for plenty. Thanks for looking.

Always looking for more stuff. Jacob's been on the "sometime" list for a bit, but I haven't dug into which presentation yet. I'll take a look at this.

cool/ thanks (that particular one, if i found the one i was looking for, may be more technical than you want, but it was also one where i actively searched for a transcript, couldn't find one, and had to sit through the whole thing).

and i think the whole idea is a good one and i added the site to my list of "things i need to read one day"...
