Subcrawl, tomorrow's zeitgeist today
Subcrawl is a new group link blog that aims to explore the most curious and intriguing online happenings before the rest of the web-surfing world spots them. Website editors include our New Orleans correspondent Melissa Chipman (of Displaced), Kim Cooper (Scram, Bubblegum Music is the Naked Truth, Neutral Milk Hotel's In the Aeroplane Over the Sea), novelist and Daily Candy contributor Darcy Cosper, Adrienne Crew (of LAist.com and LA Brain Terrain), Margaret Griffis (Crash Landing, Lost in the Grooves), designer Phil Goldwhite (Plasticmuse.com), Eric Howard (Cacophony Society, Tetrameter.com) and new media consultant Richard Schave (dumplingfeed.com). Since going live in September, Subcrawl contributors have written about pet cemeteries sold out to developers, Texas criminalizing allergy meds, historic images of female KKK members, the secrets of the Pirates of the Caribbean ride, Little Nemo in Slumberland, battling Satanists, modern dandies, a forgotten 1960 airline disaster in Brooklyn, weird sweaters, Cuban propaganda, gory French theater, JT Leroy hoax reports, how to eat a live octopus, storybook houses, Egyptian curses and a kit for building your own solar death ray. It's something new, weird and cool every day. We're actively looking for contributing editors, and welcome reader feedback.
