Don't Index Me!
A little while back I thought that it would be nice to be able to post things online that couldn't be indexed by search engines. So, I put together a simple site that takes text, renders it to an image, and allows you to link to it. The idea is that this could be used for things like email addresses (to avoid spam) or writings by political dissidents (to avoid detection by oppressive governments). Enjoy!

This would be trivial to exploit using OCR. If you want to block search engines, robots.txt is an option but since search engines can ignore the standard, it's not 100%.

I was going to add, I think Google is already indexing text rendered as an image.

BTW, nice job on the app - I just wouldn't promote it as unsearchable. It is searchable, if somebody wants to make the effort. Spammers probably wouldn't. Foreign governments hunting down dissidents probably would.

Nice! Could a random background be added, and random skewing of words/letters so that it would be harder to use OCR and would be similar to a reverse similar to a reverse captcha? Maybe you could a have a box to tick for increased obfuscation.

are the images being rendered on-demand or are they archived? if the latter, how long are they available?

Right now the images are archived. There is no specific time limit on how long they are kept.

Just an acessibility issue, but unless the script is also addhing alt text to the images, it makes life incresingly difficult for anyone who uses any kind of browser reader to view text online.

Just a thought.
