Loveland Micro Real Estate
We're inviting you to own land in Detroit by the square inch and get creative with it. Loveland is an experiment in micro property ownership with over 700 residents so far. You join a community of other artists, geeks, and imaginative people who are building not only the physical land, but video streams, augmented reality / virtual world layers, games, and more as a platform for creativity. See the blog, news stories, and a property map. We're funded entirely by inch sales so please do inchvest if you think this is a cool idea!

I grew up in Loveland, actually.
No, really. My hometown is Loveland.
So this to me just seems a bit bizarre, the name that is. It'd be like starting a microproperty ownership in the real Loveland and calling it Detroit, if ya catch my drift.

Other than that, I like the idea and I've voted for it. The name, for me personally, not so good.

Huh, it's a funny story about the etymology of the name, which isn't even taken after a city. We also found out after the fact that there's a Plymouth, MI just half an hour outside Detroit (doh). Thanks for the feedback, always appreciated!
