The Book of the Good and the Great: Stories
The Book of the Good and the Great is a collection of short stories in progress, being published online as they are finished. A new story will be added each month, and corresponding audio and ebook versions will soon be produced and made available for download.

Inspired by the classic short story collection, Winesburg, OH, The Book of the Good and the Great attempts to investigate the interior lives of an eclectic community in a small suburban neighborhood. Full of humor and heartbreak, each story illuminates the life of one of these characters, and the collection on a whole explores the ways in which individuals can be shaped by those around them, as well as the power individuals hold to influence their communities. These stories speak to the subtle complexities of American society, from the charming to the frightening, from the beautiful to the grotesque.

It's going to be tortuous waiting once a month!

I love Winesburg, OH. When I was in high school I started a series of stories (just for myself). They aren't the best, but I called the collection something like "The Book of the Grotesque" (Anderson's original choice for his collection).

I decided to place my characters in "Story City," then when I was in college I found out there was actually a Story City. It was surreal driving around a town I'd made up in my head.
