Baypup Internet Search Engine
Baypup has received funding to build our prototype internet search engine into a full scale production search platform and internet ad network. Currently we are planning a 500 million page web index as well as dozens more vertical search tools. Baypup currently maintains an experimental 12 million page web index as well as vertical search tools for recipes and Wikipedia.

While small in size and still relatively unknown, the Baypup search platform is quite advanced and produces fast loading and relevant search results along with keyword targeted text ads.

What's so special about it?

Sorry to be snarky, but I'm kind of skeeved out by this post. The OP's previous comments are so perfunctory that it looks like he joined Metafilter just to post this. I know that's not quite against the rules, but surely it's against the spirit of Projects?

Also, what the heck going on with this this rant against Recipe Puppy? Two different search sites happen to include the word 'pup' and suddenly you're threatening spurious legal action against a fellow MeFite?

The whole thing smells like one of those late-nineties over-branded Internet Empires which litter their about pages with "we" and "us" in a desperate attempt to disguise the fact that their "President and CEO" is just one smart guy tinkering with 'puters in his bedroom.

OP, maybe next time you could just say hi, tell us what you've built and explain why we might find it interesting? Less bullshit, more humility will take you a long way.

Lol, he seems to think he has a trademark on any use of 'puppies' in relation to search? I hope no one tells him about this... He'll have to go back in time and sue lycos 11 years ago!

Also, I did a trademark search for both 'bay pup' and 'baypup' and nothing turned up. So he's apparently (as far as I can tell) bullshitting about owning any trademark at all.
