Sharearchy: Mining the web for Open Art and information
I started Sharearchy as a forum for posting links to Open Art and information available via Creative Commons, Open Source and Public Domain licenses. I got the idea after watching Steal This Film. I realized individuals used torrents to legitimately distribute art and information; yet, I had trouble finding non-copyrighted material amongst the haystack of copyrighted data on places like The Pirate Bay. It wasn’t that Open Art wasn’t there (I eventually found it), but that you had to work to discover it. On Sharearchy, I share what I find.
