s1e1 : anime first episode reviews
Every season, dozens of new anime appear on Japanese television, and the vast majority of them are never officially translated. However, almost all of them are translated by fans and posted online, mostly as torrents. But, as Theodore Sturgeon said, "ninety percent of everything is crud," and s1e1 lets you find out which is the worthier part of the anime crop, before you go and download something you'll regret. The first episode of each offering of the season is summarized and evaluated, with the best picks highlighted as feature reviews.

What originally started as LiveJournal posts by my friend has been turned into a website by me, and has been going a year now, with well over one hundred reviews up. She writes them, and I edit and post them. She uses a blog to review episodes of series she keeps watching past the first episode, and we should start posting more detailed full-series reviews soon as well.

There are so many shows that it would help me if I could see the rough conclusion of a review without clicking through to a show's page; I want to know if it's worth my time without browsing past the index.

That's basically what the feature reviews are for. Very few of the non-feature shows are worth watching. I am considering adding the opposite of feature reviews, for the really bad shows....

This is pretty sweet. Much better than slogging through the muck in /a/ for good recommendations.
