Water Saving Heroes
Water Saving Heroes is a regional campaign sponsored by eleven Bay Area water agencies seeking to promote water conservation and spread the word about how ordinary people can contribute to beating the drought that's affecting California this year. My colleagues and I have been managing the campaign for the agencies, including the web site, which we just finished. There's a "Share your Stories" page where people can share tips on how to save water, as well as information on how to save water around the house, and at your business, plus rebates offered by the participating agencies. My favorite feature is the "See Yourself as a Water Saving Hero" Flash app, where you can upload a photo, explain how you're fighting the drought, and share the results with your friends. Water shortages are serious business, but that doesn't mean we can't have a little fun addressing them.
