Okala Foundation
My wife and I have dedicated a bunch of time and effort to putting together this site to help a fellow Canadian do work in Cameroon, helping get kids in schools and protect primates. The project is now an official Canadian charity, and we're moving ahead getting sponsorship for the kids, which gets them a daily lunch, school supplies, and a mosquito net to ward off malaria.

Currently there are 82 kids in Ngombe needing sponsors, and other priorities include opening other schools and teaching sustainable agriculture and harvesting. Everything is based on the "help people help themselves" (or "teach a man to fish...") philosophy, where everything undertaken is done to make the people helped able to self-sustain and hopefully help others in future.
